Introduction

Welcome to our public consultation website

This website has been produced as part of our community engagement prior to the submission of a planning application to Maidstone Borough Council which will see the creation of a new community care hub to the south of the town. The care hub will provide a state-of-the-art new Hospice (Heart of Kent Hospice), 14 supported-living units for autistic young adults, a residential care home and bespoke, affordable bungalows for older persons.

The planning application will be in ‘hybrid’ form, meaning some elements will be provided in detail, whereas other elements simply seek to agree the principle of development. The submission to the Council will include full details of the proposed care home and the accommodation for autistic young adults, together with access from Heath Road. Details relating to the wider development, including the new hospice and the affordable bungalows, such as the layout, scale, appearance and landscaping, will follow in future planning applications which will provide greater detail.

This consultation website provides details of the site, the Applicants and details of the proposed development. There is then an opportunity for you to provide feedback on the proposals.

The feedback received will be reviewed and analysed and used to inform the final application ahead of submission to Maidstone Borough Council.

To leave feedback on any respect of the development please click on the Feedback tab which will allow you to submit your comments. We encourage you to review the Masterplan and relevant information to enable informed comments to be provided.
